What are they, and why do we require them?
We pride ourselves on our honesty and transparency when it comes to your dog's happiness and comfort level. A trial night gives us the opportunity BEFORE the "real" dates you need to assess your dog overnight and iron out any problems they may have.
A trial night may go off without a hitch, or a dog may struggle with some anxiety or fearful behaviors. During their trial night we have time to figure out the "why" of these behaviors and come up with solutions before your dog needs to be with us for any extended period of time. If we did not have these trial nights, a dog having trouble would not have the benefit of a second chance. Sometimes, the second chance is all it takes for some dogs to say "oh, it's okay here! I like this!"
When we build in time for a trial night, our team can brainstorm WITH you to figure out what it is your dog needs to have the best time that they can here. Maybe they need a suite with a different view, maybe they need to switch up their bedding situation, or maybe they just need a chance to come in a few times and adjust. We don't have this opportunity without a trial night and for some dogs, this is setting them up to fail.
We also recognize that boarding at a facility is NOT for every dog. We have always been very honest and transparent with dog owners about this, both in our boarding and daycare program. Without a trial night, we won't know if this applies until your dog is already here.
